Is there ANY way we can extract all the goodies from the forum? tutorials, pb help, write-ups, how-to's, troubleshooting solutions found etc etc?

I'll bet money more people will find and play this game now that they don't have the forums to tarnish and deter them from the image that is TC:E. Let the newbies decide for themselves and fall in love with the bugs that makes TC:E one of a kind.

I am going to PM asking the admins if I can take over hosting the site for archiving. We'll see what happens.

good luck, but you're not the first one to have suggested that... as far as i know there's two ways: either we hack the website and get access to their database (good luck, i can't do that...), or we'll have to copy paste every useful posts there is... (using  quote might be a better option as it keeps the owners' name and formatting)

This isn't the time to be a negative nancy. I know we have members in CoD with the abilities to pull this off.

Thanks for all the help! I'm aware and have used picture and video extracting software for websites in the past, but I haven't done any on a forum for threads and text. So thought I'd ask here before I dug something up myself!

Thanks a lot VTI for takin' that direction and $tea1th is already on another direction dubbing the site for us to host on our servers for archiving. We hope to create a brute search engine for this "research directory" pertaining to the tce forum only. I find it sad how ALL info on ET has always been archived and still holds value. However TCE related content is just dissapearing before our eyes.

Roughly, 30% of the site has been ripped. So far it equates to 730MB. I run the script every night. This site is huge.

What happened to the edit function here?

Anyway, Wiki has a public open source that consumers can use. So that would be the best option. We could call it TCEWiki.com or something to that effect. What you guys think?
